The children have thoroughly enjoyed our first unit of the year, Poetry, with a focus on our model text, a poem about Medusa. We have had lots of fun collaboratively, generating interesting language to use in our own poems about the Minotaur (shared write) and a Siren (hot write). For our first hot write of the year, the children planned and wrote in pairs – this generated extremely high-quality poems, which we look forward to completing, editing and celebrating on Monday!
